Color Wyld

We were invited to join this creative workshop this past Saturday and it was quite the event! Started off with Instagram worthy bites by taste of pace, farm to table catering. In the first 5 seconds of indulging in savory bites & coffee we've already felt we received our moneys worth.

Right at 10:30am, We jumped right in, the group was intimate and diverse and we all quickly became friends through a fun drawing project. Everyone was given a chance to introduce themselves. That was followed by a talk about how to sharpen your business concepts and finesse your brand story, social media tips and much more. All professional in their own fields our gracious hosts Bess Wyrick of Celadon Celery, Liz Cherkasova of Late Afternoon and Annabell Acton of Never Like It Anyway, took turns talking through all the talking points in there respective fields and expertise.

We broke up into groups and did crafts and had unlimited amounts of time to pick the brains of fellow entrepreneurs. The hosts were also available & encouraged us to ask questions and get advice & even offered to share their secrets and contacts. They held nothing back, they were honest and helpful in everyway.

We took a break had some champagne and lunch. Lunch was a dream of course catered by Pace. Ill let the pictures do the talking!

Finally the day came to a close and we didn't want it to end. We left with a crown on our heads, some new friends, a bouquet of beautiful blooms, a full stomach and fully inspired! Oh and a swag bag for a send off gift, a book and goodies from Kate Somerville

I hope this inspires you to try new things, make to friends and Live BOERA. To learn more about color wyld please visit them at Color Wyld  and follow them on insta @colorwyld

Stack your different colored tissue papers, lining up the corners as best as you can and fold your papers vertically, as if you were folding a paper fan, until you reach the other end of the paper.

You should end up with a cute scalloped edge, like this. This will be the bottom of your Papel Picado Banner.

Separate your papers and one by one, fold them vertically, keeping the scalloped edges together, and then horizontally.

Now here is where the magic happens! Think back to grade school, during the winter months, when you had to turn an ordinary piece of paper into a beautiful snowflake! At this point, anything goes, as long as you don't cut chunks out of your cut…

And, once you've finished cutting shapes out of your tissue papers, lay them flat and apply a layer of glue to the top edge. Then, place the string on the glued edge of the tissue paper and fold the paper over to seal in the string.
